SYNORO
€73.00 – €133.00
Synoro is a blend of 40% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot and 20% Agiorghitiko. Synoro means border. The wine is called border because of the bordering vineyards which appear on the label. A small production wine with a special evolution in time.
Its vineyards, planted between 1992 and 1997, are located in the mountainous Argolida at 650m. and the predominant soil type is stony clay.
Synoro ages for 13 months in French barrels (50% new and 50% second-hand), of which 4 months sur lie. After bottling it ages for 12 months in the cellar of the winery.
Originally the wine’s color is deep, ruby with ruby highlights. The nose is intense, dense with a sense of freshness due to the vegetal character of Cabernet Franc. The aromatic character is based on ripe fruits (red berry, red cherry and ripe strawberry) along with sweet aromas of chocolate, cinnamon, cedar and a touch of barrel. On the palate it is full, with a rich extract, alcohol that balances the accentuated acidity and ripe dense tannins. The palate aromas follow those of the nose with more accentuated fruit. The aftertaste has duration, volume and complexity.
